This week, NPR reported that one of the most powerful players in health care is PhRMA, which as I've noted before, stands for the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America. PhRMA is a trade organization that represents some 32 brand-name drug companies, and NPR also reported that this organization now has so much influence in Washington, that when Congress passes a bill, PhRMA almost ALWAYS gets its way, and we're all picking up the tab (except, perhaps, for big pharma's shareholders).
